1. When Should I shop for back-to-school?

The best time of year to shop for back-to-school uniforms is June or July. By shopping early, you avoid the August and September rush. Families are welcome to book an online virtual appointment, or an in-store one-on-one appointment with one of our uniform experts. You can also shop online for your uniform by registering or logging into your online account.

2. How long will it take to process my order?


*Please note, customers should expect processing delays due to Covid-19.  Online orders are received at our stores and processed within 5-7 business days. If the items purchased are in stock, they are shipped out right away. If the items are out of stock, they are placed on backorder. Backordered items can take between 2-6 weeks to reach our facility, depending on the time of the year. A custom order can take between 4-6 weeks.

3. What is a backorder?


If an item is out of stock at the time the order gets placed, it is placed on backorder. It can take between 2-6 weeks for backordered items to arrive at our facility. Once the backordered item arrives at the store and your order is complete, you will be notified of a shipping date.

4. How much will it cost to ship my order?


Orders totalling $0-$49.95 before tax cost $8.95 to ship. Orders totalling $49.96-$149.99 before tax cost $16.95 to ship. All orders totalling $150 and over ship for free.

5. How long does shipping take?


Once your order is complete, and any backordered items arrive, your package will be shipped through Canada Post. It then takes between 5-7 business days to arrive at the address indicated on your order. *Please note, customers should expect shipping delays due to Covid-19

6. What is your return/exchange policy?


*Please note, our policies have been updated to reflect the current Covid-19 pandemic situation.

Any unwashed and unworn items with the tags attached can be returned for a full refund within 14 days of purchase, or brought back within 90 days for an exchange or store credit. The credit does not expire and can be used for any purchases made at your designated InSchoolwear store.

Customers returning an online order are asked to please email the InSchoolwear location that holds your school uniform to start the process. All store emails can be found on our contact page. Your InSchoolwear location will inform you when curbside return hours are in operation. Upon arrival, please contact the phone number posted on the door to notify an associate you have arrived.

*In an effort to keep both our customers and colleagues safe, and to reduce the risk of transmission, all returns will be subject to a 3-day quarantine prior to being processed by our staff. Once the return has been received by our team, they’ll have 5-7 business days to inspect the item, confirm it’s in good condition and process your transaction.

Unfortunately, once an item is worn, washed or altered, or missing tags it is considered non-refundable.

7. How do I edit my account if the student changes schools?


If the student changes schools, please use the “Add Another School Request Form” found on your “My Account” page, or email us here: In the email please include the following:

  • Your log-in username (user name)
  • Your email address
  • The Full and Complete name of the school you would like removed from your account
  • The Full and Complete name of the school you would like added to your account
  • Any other details we may have missed

8. How do I shop for more than one school?


To add another school to your account please use the “Add Another School Request Form” on the main My Account page, or send an email to In the email, please include your username, email address, and the name of the school you would like added to your account.


To ensure the accuracy of all online orders, each account can only be connected to one school. To shop for multiple schools, all you need to do is create a separate account for each school. You can use the same email address when creating additional accounts, just add a new username.

9. Do I need to make an appointment to shop for my uniform?


In an effort to keep everyone safe this back-to-school, we are introducing shopping time slots! You can book your Slot to Shop by registering or signing into your online account. Alternatively, if you are unable to make it to the store, we are also offering virtual appointments. Families can also shop for their uniform online.

10. How should I wash and care for the uniform pieces?


Most of our clothing is machine washable. Blazers and ties are the only items that need to be dry-cleaned.

Please also note that any clothing made of fleece may shrink. To avoid shrinking, we recommend washing in cold water and hanging the pieces to dry, or if tumble drying use a low setting.

11. Order pickups at your designated InSchoolwear store location


Store pickup is available for all online orders. After receiving notification that your order is complete and available for pickup, you may collect your order from your designated InSchoolwear store during pickup hours.
